The Bandwidth Hog

This site is a BANDWIDTH HOG. PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TO HELP OFFSET OUR BANDWIDTH COSTS. Even one dollar would help, and if you donate anything at all I will include your name in the forthcoming Dave Ryder Hall Of Fame (FTW!)

BTW, the Bandwidth Hog (which many local readers may recognize as Sweetmeat, the mascot of St. Louis’ KSHE 95 Real Rock Radio) was actually originally the infamous album cover Ahead Rings Out by the band Blodwyn Pig:
Is that nasty pig smoking a joint? Bad pig!!!

Also, as most Old St. Louis hippies know, the original Sweetmeat was portrayed smoking a joint. It seems funny now, but when this image first began circulating on t-shirts and bumper stickers around St. Louis in the early 70’s, there was such an outcry that the joints were removed!

This is a really cool little known fact: KSHE 95 recently announced its first HD Radio subchannel, which will broadcast a 24-hour version of longtime personality John Ulett’s* popular KSHE Klassics Show. You can get details at the KSHE 95 website.

I made two Bandwidth Hogs, one on black, and one on white:
I think this naughty pig is ALSO smoking a joint. It seems funny now, but when this image first began circulating on t-shirts and bumper stickers around St. Louis in the early 70's, there was such an outcry that the joints were removed! Man I have the munchies so bad I could eats my own pork belly

* As you can see, John Ulett’s wikipedia entry has been unfairly deleted (Reason given: article fails to assert why this person is notable), probably by a jealous rival radio personality. I am currently in the process of trying to get it properly reinstated, to say John Ulett’s incredible 30+ years as a radio host, sports announcer and contributor and organizer to countless St. Louis charities isn’t notable is just ridiculous, to say the least. Hell, he’s been the voice of the St. Louis Cardinals since 1983 (the house PA announcer at Busch Stadium).
